It is well known that the skin around the eyes requires special care. It is very thin, almost devoid of subcutaneous fat and collagen layer, and therefore is most quickly affected by age, and is also more sensitive to negative environmental factors. Because of this, the periorbital area requires especially careful care. And among the rich arsenal of skin care products around the eyes, various oils are very popular.
Oil for wrinkles around the eyes
- Olive oil for the skin around the eyes. It is considered one of the most popular and effective in the fight against wrinkles. It can be applied both as a mask with the addition of a few drops of lemon juice for 10-15 minutes, or as part of special creams and mixtures. A mask of olive oil (50 ml) with the addition of vitamin E (10 ml) will be very effective.
- Castor oil for the skin around the eyes. Another fairly popular oil, which is recommended to be applied heated to problem areas. Since ancient times, this oil has been considered an indispensable tool for strengthening and growing eyebrows and eyelashes, but it should be applied very carefully to the delicate skin of the eyelids, and preferably not in its pure form, since the ricin contained in castor oil can cause allergic reactions and irritation.
A mixture of several oils is considered very effective. To two tablespoons of base oil (olive, peach or grape seed), add 2 drops each of rosemary, geranium and lemon verbena essential oils. Apply oil to the area around the eyes with light patting movements before going to bed twice a week.
Nourishing recipes with oils for the skin around the eyes
- Eye Nourishing Butter. In a water bath, melt one tablespoon of purified pork fat (lard) and add two tablespoons of vegetable oils to it. Store the resulting mixture in a jar in the refrigerator and lubricate the area around the eyelids before going to bed. It is recommended to use this butter three times a week. Of the oils that can be used, olive oil, almond oil, or jojoba oil are best, depending on the type of skin around the eyes.
So, for fading, wrinkle-prone, dry skin, olive oil is more suitable. For sensitive skin around the eyes, it is better to take almond oil. Jojoba oil is universal, suitable for any skin type, and it can be applied to the area around the eyes, even in its pure form. In the absence of lard, allergies to animal fats, or excessively oily skin, solid vegetable oil can be used in the recipe. For example, coconut oil, which is not used around the eyes in its pure form, but mixed with others, softens the skin, making it more velvety. If you have wide pores that are prone to clogging, then taking coconut oil is undesirable, and it is better to replace it with mango butter.
- Avocado oil around the eyes can be applied both in its pure form as a nourishing mask, and used to enrich cosmetics. To do this, add it to the cream at the rate of 10-15 drops per 10 ml of cream.
If the skin of the eyelids turns red and flakes, then this mixture can help to cope with this problem. Take one tablespoon of peach oil and half a tablespoon of avocado oil, add 2 drops of sandalwood essential oil and one drop of rose and limette essential oils to the mixture.
For two weeks in the evening, do applications for 15 minutes. It can also be used as a support agent, and lubricate the skin around the eyes twice a week. It is better to store the mixture in the refrigerator, and shortly before use, warm to room temperature.
