Various dermatological lesions, accompanied by characteristic symptoms, hyperkeratosis, irritation and peeling of the epidermis, respond well to treatment with glucocorticosteroids. Preparations of this type include Belosalik lotion, which, thanks to the correct combination of components, allows you to completely get rid of the manifestations of the disease in 3-4 weeks and prevent inflammatory processes.
Hormonal or not Belosalik lotion?
The main active substance of the drug is betamethasone dipropionate. This chemical compound is a type of glucocorticosteroid – a synthetic analogue of the hormone prednisolone. Betamethasone produces an intense immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory effect.
Thus, the remedy in question is hormonal.
The composition of the lotion Belosalik
1 g of solution contains 500 mcg of betamethasone and 20 mg of salicylic acid. The rest of the volume is made up of auxiliary components (water, disodium edetate, sodium hydroxide, isopropanol, hypromellose).
Betamethasone performs the following functions:
- antipruritic;
- antiallergic;
- anti-inflammatory;
- immunosuppressive;
- vasoconstrictor.
The purpose of salicylic acid is to facilitate the penetration of betamethasone into the skin due to its keratolytic properties. In addition, the substance maintains the local environment in an acidic state, preventing the progression of bacterial or fungal infections.
Application of Belosalik spray lotion
The described solution is prescribed for such diseases:
- seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp;
- neurodermatitis;
- eczema;
- seborrhea;
- asbestos and lichen planus;
- ichthyosis;
- skin dyshidrosis;
- hyperkeratosis caused by infection.
Belosalik lotion is especially effective for psoriasis, as it helps to quickly stop such unpleasant symptoms as:
- itching;
- irritation;
- redness;
- exfoliation of the epidermis;
- the appearance of scales.
The correct use of the drug consists in the daily application of a small amount of the solution (1 spray or a few drops is enough) to the damaged areas of the skin. After that, the lotion should be rubbed a little and left until the liquid is completely absorbed. The procedure is performed 2 times a day, sometimes once is enough if the form of the disease is in a mild stage.
The total course of therapy should not exceed 3-4 weeks due to the immunosuppressive effect of the glucocorticosteroid hormone in the composition.
Starting treatment with Belosalik, be sure to remember the contraindications:
- rosacea;
- skin reactions after vaccination;
- chicken pox;
- the presence of open wounds or ulcers in the skin treatment area;
- acne vulgaris;
- syphilis;
- lupus;
- viral infections;
- trophic lesions and ulcers;
- hypersensitivity to any of the components of the solution.
It is worth noting that Belosalik lotion is quite safe and rarely causes side effects. Among them are sometimes noted:
- hypersensitivity reactions (redness of the epidermis, burning or itching);
- secondary infections;
- striae;
- acne
- skin atrophy.
Belosalik lotion analogs
If the use of the considered medicinal product is not possible, it should be replaced with the following medicines:
- Diprosalic;
- Betaderm A;
- Betasal;
- Rederm;
- Betnovate-S;
- Akriderm SK.
As a rule, most patients prefer the last medicine, produced in the form of an ointment. It is also based on betamethasone and salicylic acid, but in a higher concentration. In addition, Akriderm is much cheaper.
